Chennai, April 6 (NationPress) BJP leader and former Governor of Puducherry and Telangana, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, stated on Sunday that the citizens of Tamil Nadu will ultimately disregard Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who she accused of exhibiting disrespect by failing to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to the state.

In a conversation with reporters at the Chennai airport after her return from the inauguration of the new Pamban railway bridge in Rameswaram, Tamilisai remarked, “The Prime Minister has returned to Tamil Nadu after taking significant measures to address the long-standing issue of Indian fishermen in Sri Lanka. He has exerted considerable effort to prevent such issues from arising again.”

She criticized the Chief Minister for his absence during the Prime Minister’s visit, saying, “Instead of greeting the Prime Minister, who is dedicated to the welfare of Tamil Nadu, the Chief Minister opted to travel to Ooty for a break. Was that necessary at such a crucial time?” Tamilisai accused the Chief Minister of intentionally avoiding the Prime Minister’s visit.

“His absence was deliberate and conveys a negative message to the people of the state,” she asserted. Emphasizing the Prime Minister’s dedication to the region, she continued, “PM Modi has announced development initiatives worth Rs 8,000 crore for Tamil Nadu. Yet, the Chief Minister has failed to recognize his contributions.”

Tamilisai pointed out that the Prime Minister has urged political leaders in Tamil Nadu to utilize the Tamil language for signing documents, demonstrating his respect for Tamil culture. “The people of Tamil Nadu can no longer be deceived by emotional political rhetoric,” she added.

Drawing comparisons with Telangana, where she previously served as Governor, Tamilisai reminisced, “When the Prime Minister introduced significant development projects in Telangana, the then Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao chose to boycott him. The people responded by rejecting him in the elections.” She concluded, “The same outcome will occur in Tamil Nadu. Citizens will reject a Chief Minister who disrespects the Prime Minister, especially one who has continually supported Tamil interests.”
