Chennai, Aug 3 (NationPress) - Senior BJP leader and former Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has recently taken a strong stance against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, alleging that he has embraced a confrontational stance towards the BJP-led Union government. Speaking to the media at the Chennai airport, she expressed that if the late DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi were still alive, he would have fostered a cooperative relationship with the Centre for the welfare of Tamil Nadu.

"Karunanidhi had previously allied with the BJP and would have offered support even without a formal agreement if it served the state's interests," she noted.

Stalin, who professes to follow his father's legacy, should reflect on his continuous opposition to the Centre, she added.

Tamilisai criticized the Chief Minister for his repeated communications to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the protests led by the DMK government, questioning the rationale behind such resistance.

"What grievance does Tamil Nadu have against the Union government? The DMK, which has not delivered in the past four years, is hastily organizing welfare camps just before the elections," she remarked.

Addressing civic concerns, she highlighted the inadequate upkeep of the Poondi reservoir and improper waste management in regions like Velachery, which she claimed are impacting the daily lives of Chennai residents.

"The public deserves better. The state government has neglected even the fundamental issues like sanitation," she stated.

In response to comments from expelled AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam about BJP state president Nainar Nagenthiran not returning his calls, Tamilisai remarked, "OPS should have exercised greater political caution. Our party leaders are principled, and we do not accept his claims."

She also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, mocking his frequent statements.

"Rahul Gandhi claims the economy is dead and the Election Commission is non-functional. Instead of critiquing others, he should clarify whether Congress is still relevant," she stated.

Tamilisai further challenged actor-politician Kamal Haasan's comments on honor killings, questioning what the so-called Dravidian model has accomplished in addressing such issues during its extensive governance.

She accused those who oppose the AIADMK-BJP alliance while aligning with the DMK of betraying their principles.

"Changing sides for political advantage demonstrates a lack of commitment to one's values," she concluded.
