Chennai, Aug 3 (NationPress) Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin has vehemently criticized the AIADMK for rekindling its partnership with the BJP in anticipation of the 2026 Assembly elections, asserting that the party is jeopardizing Tamil Nadu's interests for its own political advantage.
In a powerful letter directed at DMK supporters, coinciding with the impending seventh death anniversary of his father and former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, CM Stalin emphasized the necessity for party members to uphold the late leader's pro-Tamil and pro-people principles.
He called upon them to work fervently to secure the DMK's return to power for a seventh consecutive term.
Pointing fingers at AIADMK leader and Opposition head Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), CM Stalin claimed that he has sacrificed the state's interests by aligning with the BJP, a party that has consistently acted against Tamil Nadu.
“Despite the BJP-led Central Government's betrayal of Tamil Nadu, Palaniswami has travelled to Delhi, submitted to the BJP, and renewed the alliance. Even true AIADMK supporters are dissatisfied with this,” CM Stalin stated.
He further accused EPS of disseminating false narratives during his ongoing campaign and asserted that the AIADMK exhibits no genuine commitment to the welfare of Tamil Nadu.
“In a moment when we need to amplify our efforts to defend the rights of the state, AIADMK has allied with a party that undermines them,” he added.
CM Stalin highlighted the DMK government's legal victory against the Governor's procrastination in approving Bills passed by the Assembly, affirming that the DMK has remained steadfast against the BJP's alleged intrusions into the governance of non-BJP ruled states.
He reminded party members of the Dravidian values championed by Karunanidhi, referencing the former CM's pioneering initiatives for social justice, language rights, and state autonomy.
“Our government continues to tread the path he established, advocating for the rights of Tamil Nadu and its citizens,” CM Stalin remarked.
In remembrance of Karunanidhi's death anniversary on August 7, the Chief Minister announced a peace march to the late leader's memorial at Marina Beach. He urged DMK officials statewide to pay tribute in their respective districts and reaffirm their dedication to Karunanidhi's ideals.
