Chennai, April 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and leader of the DMK, M.K. Stalin, delivered a fierce critique of the AIADMK on Saturday, alleging that its leaders have essentially surrendered the party and the interests of the state to the BJP in the wake of central agency raids.
In a pointed statement made in Chennai, the Chief Minister remarked: “Following the raids involving relatives of AIADMK officials by central agencies, the party’s leadership hastily approached the BJP seeking protection. The BJP seized this chance and coerced an alliance. This partnership is fundamentally a scam, with corruption serving as its binding force.”
The DMK leader contended that the AIADMK-BJP coalition is a failed partnership, consistently rejected by the electorate in Tamil Nadu during multiple elections.
He further criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah for re-establishing the alliance without providing any logical or ideological justification.
“Amit Shah has once more pieced together a failed alliance. While he may wish to do so, he has failed to articulate the reasoning or principles behind it. He has merely referred to the formulation of a Common Minimum Programme (CMP),” asserted the Chief Minister.
Questioning the credibility of the CMP, he challenged whether it would uphold AIADMK’s previous stances on crucial matters like opposition to NEET, the Waqf (Amendment) Act, and the proposed delimitation that could diminish Tamil Nadu’s representation in the Lok Sabha.
“Amit Shah did not address any of these significant issues, nor did he permit the AIADMK leadership to share its perspective. Instead, he opted to criticize the DMK, the state government, and myself,” he stated.
He emphasized that the DMK remains committed to advocating for state rights and the preservation of Tamil culture, while accusing the AIADMK-BJP coalition of being motivated solely by a thirst for power.
“The BJP leadership is intent on undermining Tamil Nadu through various strategies, including the imposition of Hindi and delimitation. The AIADMK, behaving like bonded laborers, has capitulated to the BJP. In this process, they have effectively mortgaged Tamil Nadu to Delhi, sacrificing self-respect. The people of the state will respond appropriately,” he concluded.
