Jammu, Sep 20 (NationPress) A significant anti-terrorist operation is ongoing in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) as of Saturday, with war-like stores of arms and ammunition being seized by joint forces in a separate operation in Poonch district.

The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, based in Nagrota, announced via their official social media account, “Contact with terrorists. In an intelligence-driven operation in the vicinity of Kishtwar, vigilant troops of #WhiteKnightCorps established contact with terrorists around 8 P.M. on September 19. An exchange of fire occurred, and operations are still underway.”

In another operation in Poonch, the joint forces successfully recovered war-like stores of arms and ammunition.

“#JointOperation | Recovery of War Like Stores. Alert #WhiteKnightCorps troops, in collaboration with #JKP, successfully recovered one weapon (AK Series), four AK magazines, 20 hand grenades, and other military supplies in the Poonch sector. #SearchOperation continues,” stated the White Knight Corps in a follow-up post on X.

The joint forces have been conducting assertive operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and sympathizers in J&K.

Moreover, drug traffickers and peddlers are also under scrutiny, as intelligence agencies suspect that the revenue generated from drug trafficking and hawala networks is funneled to support terrorism in the Union Territory.

The comprehensive strategy to target terrorists, their OGWs, sympathizers, and drug traffickers aims to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem in J&K.

Most drug trafficking and hawala operations have been traced back across the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB).

J&K has an International Border stretching 240 km across Jammu, Kathua, and Samba districts, alongside a 740-km-long LoC in Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora in the Valley, and Poonch and Rajouri in the Jammu division.

The BSF is responsible for guarding the International Border, while the Army oversees the LoC.
