Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday, 20 May paid tributes to Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu — the premier of the Madras Presidency and the first Chief Minister of Andhra State — on his death anniversary. Governor and CM Lead the Tributes

Governor Abdul Nazeer described Prakasam Pantulu as a fearless freedom fighter, a visionary leader, and a symbol of courage and integrity. He said Pantulu's sacrifices, patriotism, and commitment to democratic values continue to inspire future generations.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called Pantulu 'a symbol of the courage, adventures, and self-respect of the Telugu people,' adding: 'He was a great soul who lived solely for the people with unwavering patriotism, honesty, and dedication. On the occasion of Prakasam Pantulu Garu's death anniversary, let us remember the services of that noble leader.'

Opposition Pays Homage

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy garlanded Pantulu's portrait at the party's central office in Tadepalli. In a post on X, Reddy described Pantulu as 'a valiant hero who stood unflinchingly against the oppression of British rulers, offering his chest to their bullets without fear,' and called his legacy 'an eternal source of inspiration for today's generations.'

Minister Lokesh Adds His Voice

Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology Nara Lokesh also posted tributes on X, calling Pantulu 'a person who dedicated his life to the nation' and noting that 'his services from the freedom struggle to the formation of the state are unforgettable.' Lokesh urged citizens to rededicate themselves to Pantulu's ideals.
