New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Kharga Corps, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, praised all ranks for their exceptional professionalism and operational agility demonstrated during Operation Sindoor, as reported by an official on Friday.

He conducted a thorough assessment of the operational readiness of Deep Strikers and commended the formation for its heightened preparedness and technological integration in executing all operational tasks.

An official from the Western Command of the Indian Army shared insights regarding the review led by Lt Gen Pushkar via social media.

Meanwhile, the 11th Gorkha Rifles celebrated its 79th Raising Day, honoring a rich legacy of unparalleled bravery, discipline, and devotion to duty, according to an official statement from the Central Command of the Indian Army.

“Being the first regiment raised after Independence, with 3/11 GR as the first battalion established in Free India, this regiment symbolizes courage and unwavering commitment to the nation,” stated the official in a social media post.

“From historic battlefields to modern-day challenges, the Gorkha warriors have consistently exemplified honor, sacrifice, and professionalism, upholding a proud martial tradition that inspires generations. We salute the indomitable spirit, valor, and selfless service of the warriors of 11 GR who continue to protect the nation with pride,” continued the statement from the Central Command.

In the Southern Command of the Indian Army, Maj Gen Vikas Lal took command as General Officer Commanding of the Pashchim Madhya Pradesh Sub Area during a solemn ceremony, paying tribute to the brave souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country, according to a social media update.

“Upon assuming command, he urged all ranks to maintain operational readiness, enhance logistics, and strengthen #HADR coordination with civil agencies, reiterating the Army’s ongoing commitment to Ex-Servicemen, Veterans, Veer Naris, and their families,” stated the official.

At the headquarters of the Central Command on Thursday, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, GOC-in-C, interacted with troops, commending their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the nation, as reported by an official on social media.

“The interaction showcased camaraderie, mission focus, and pride in uniform, which are hallmarks of the timeless ethos of soldiering. Sharing his New Year message, the Army Commander called on all ranks to enter 2026 with renewed resolve, clarity of purpose, and steadfast determination, upholding the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and excellence,” said the official.

Lt Gen Sengupta expressed profound confidence in the capabilities, spirit, and resilience of every soldier under his command.

“As we progress, may the year bring strength, good health, and success to all ranks who continue to defend the nation with honor and pride,” he added.
