The authorities further revealed that a vigilant citizen, upon encountering the morphed and inappropriate video of CM Majhi on social media, reported the incident to the police, urging them to take action against the wrongdoers responsible for the misconduct.
“A report was submitted by a citizen after allegedly spotting a morphed and offensive video circulating on Facebook, aimed at the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. The Crime Branch also reached out to Meta (formerly Facebook) to request the removal of the offensive content targeting CM Majhi from its platform.
“M/s Meta Platform (Facebook) was requested to delete the objectionable content, which they promptly complied with. Further inquiries led to the identification of the Facebook account user as a resident of Rayagada district,” noted the Crime Branch.
