Guwahati, Dec 31 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership on Wednesday for accelerating the completion of various long-stalled infrastructure projects nationwide, asserting that such endeavors have significantly altered Assam’s developmental path and bolstered national connectivity.
In response to the Prime Minister’s recent post on the social media platform X, which highlighted several projects that had been delayed for decades—including the Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, the Jammu–Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla railway link, the Navi Mumbai International Airport in Maharashtra, and the modernization and expansion of the Bhilai Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh—Sarma emphasized the necessity of decisive governance and persistent political will.
In his post on X, the Assam Chief Minister referred to the Bogibeel Bridge as a remarkable emblem of the state’s advancement and development.
Sarma stated that this significant infrastructure project was made feasible through the “visionary leadership” of Prime Minister Modi and the efficient utilization of the PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation) platform to clear long-standing hurdles.
“The iconic Bogibeel Bridge stands as a proud symbol of Assam’s progress, enabled by the visionary leadership of Adarniya Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the transformative PRAGATI platform,” Sarma remarked, adding that the project reaffirms the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment to energizing Assam’s growth narrative.
The 4.94-km-long Bogibeel Bridge over the Brahmaputra River, which links Dibrugarh and Dhemaji districts, has greatly enhanced road and rail connectivity in eastern Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
It has also been instrumental in boosting trade, tourism, and strategic mobility within the region.
Sarma asserted that projects like the Bogibeel Bridge signify a broader transformation in governance under the Modi-led administration, where infrastructure initiatives that were stalled for decades are now being completed within set timelines.
He noted that the successful finalization of such projects has facilitated the integration of remote areas with the national mainstream and unlocked new economic avenues.
The Chief Minister further remarked that Assam has experienced unprecedented growth in infrastructure in recent years, encompassing bridges, highways, airports, and railway connectivity, mainly due to the Centre’s dedicated focus on the Northeast.
He concluded by stating that the successful execution of long-delayed projects not only strengthens India’s infrastructure framework but also rejuvenates public trust in governance and implementation.
Sarma emphasized that Assam will persist in collaborating closely with the Centre to boost development and ensure comprehensive growth throughout the state.
