Earlier, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar had expressed during a dialogue with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, that India is eagerly anticipating President Macron's visit. Both nations are pivotal players on the global stage, dedicated to fostering multipolarity, and their collaboration is crucial for not just bilateral relations but also for global political stability.
Previously, Minister Jaishankar met with President Macron in Paris, reinforcing the strength of the India–France strategic partnership while exchanging insights on pressing global issues amid a time of marked geopolitical and economic transition.
“It was a pleasure to meet President Emmanuel Macron today and convey the warm regards of PM Modi. I greatly value his views on contemporary global matters and his positive outlook on our Strategic Partnership,” Jaishankar shared in a post on the social media platform X.
India and France have a deep-rooted strategic partnership encompassing various sectors, including defense, space, civil nuclear cooperation, clean energy, and the Indo-Pacific.
The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 was announced by Prime Minister Modi during the France AI Action Summit and is scheduled for February 19-20 in New Delhi.
This summit will mark the first-ever global AI summit hosted in the Global South.
In preparation for the Summit, Prime Minister Modi recently convened a roundtable with Indian AI startups at his residence on 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
The Prime Minister encouraged India’s AI startups to guarantee that their models are ethical, unbiased, transparent, and adhere to data privacy principles.
He also urged them to aim for global leadership from India, emphasizing the nation's potential to promote affordable and inclusive AI, along with frugal innovation on a global scale.
