New Delhi, Feb 17 (NationPress) French President Emmanuel Macron has landed in India on Tuesday, with the goal of enhancing alliances and fortifying the India–France strategic partnership.

He received a warm reception at Mumbai airport from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage in bilateral discussions with President Macron, where they will kick off the India – France Year of Innovation 2026.

In a welcome message on the platform X, the MEA expressed, “This visit will add further momentum to the dynamic India–France strategic partnership.”

Prior to his arrival, Macron shared on X: "On my way to India! Three days in Mumbai and New Delhi to advance our strategic collaboration. Accompanying me are business leaders and key players in the economic, industrial, cultural, and digital sectors who are vital to our ties between India and France."

"Together, we will elevate our cooperation. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, my dear friend Narendra Modi," he added.

Macron’s visit is at the invitation of PM Modi, coinciding with the AI Impact Summit hosted by India. He is set to attend the summit in New Delhi on February 19.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi and French President Macron will convene in Mumbai to evaluate the progress made under the India-France strategic partnership and discuss significant regional and global matters.

This official visit spans from February 17 to 19 and marks Macron's fourth trip to India, with this being his inaugural official duty in Mumbai.

At around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Modi and Macron will engage in bilateral talks at Lok Bhavan in Mumbai.

The Prime Minister's Office indicated that the discussions will provide a thorough assessment of advancements made under the India-France Strategic Partnership.
