New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a journey to Paris, France, where he will co-chair the eagerly awaited AI Action Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. This summit aims to unite global leaders and technology CEOs to deliberate on the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), emphasizing innovation and ethical development.
As per the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), PM Modi's trip will also feature crucial bilateral discussions with President Macron.
"The Prime Minister will engage in talks with President Macron, and together, they will initiate several critical measures to further enhance the India-France strategic partnership," the MEA mentioned.
Prior to his departure, PM Modi highlighted significant aspects of his visit, which aims to bolster India's global relationships and shed light on essential areas of international collaboration.
“At the invitation of President Macron, I will be visiting France from February 10 to 12. In Paris, I am eager to co-chair the AI Action Summit, a pivotal gathering of world leaders and global tech CEOs. Our discussions will center on cultivating a collaborative approach to Artificial Intelligence, aimed at promoting innovation and ensuring this impactful technology benefits society in an inclusive, secure, and trustworthy manner,” he expressed in a statement.
The Prime Minister further stressed the bilateral aspect of the visit.
"Conversations with President Macron will enable us to evaluate the advancements made under the 2047 Horizon Roadmap, a comprehensive strategy to deepen the India-France strategic partnership," PM Modi remarked.
“We will also journey to the historic city of Marseille, where I will inaugurate India's first Consulate in France. Moreover, I am looking forward to visiting the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), an essential initiative aimed at harnessing fusion energy for global benefit, in which India plays a significant role within the consortium.”
During the visit, PM Modi will also pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in the World Wars at the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille, highlighting India's lasting connection with France.
After completing the European segment of his tour, PM Modi is set to travel to the United States for a two-day visit, designed to reinforce India-US relations under President Donald Trump.
“I am eager to meet my friend, President Trump. Although this will be our first encounter since his recent re-election, I fondly remember the progress we made during his first term in establishing a Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between our nations,” he stated.
Looking forward, PM Modi underscored the significance of the upcoming US visit, indicating that it offers a unique chance to build upon their previous successes.
“This visit will prioritize crafting a forward-thinking agenda that enhances our partnership, especially in vital areas like technology, trade, defense, energy, and supply chain resilience.
