Agartala, April 2 (NationPress) - The Assam Rifles organized an informative drone training and awareness program for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel in Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, on Thursday, as per official reports.

A Defence Spokesperson characterized this initiative as a crucial advancement in enhancing readiness against modern technological threats.

Given the increasing prevalence of drones in both civilian and security sectors, the training aimed to equip CISF members with insights into the challenges presented by unmanned aerial systems and to develop their skills for effective intervention.

The session commenced with a comprehensive classroom module dedicated to drone familiarization.

Experts from the Assam Rifles provided insights into various drone types, their functionalities, and the security risks they pose.

Attention was particularly drawn to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), covering aspects such as drone identification, threat evaluation, and appropriate counteractions during potential drone encounters.

This was succeeded by a practical training segment wherein CISF personnel engaged in hands-on drone operation exercises.

Participants were able to observe live drone demonstrations and received training in fundamental handling and maneuvering techniques.

The training also enabled them to recognize different drone models and appreciate their functionalities in real-world situations.

Officials emphasized the significance of such collaborative training efforts in bolstering inter-agency coordination and enhancing operational efficiency.

In a related development, earlier this week, the Assam Rifles executed an intensive two-day drone exercise in the Peren district of Nagaland.

Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat, a Defence Spokesperson, mentioned that this exercise was carried out under the Spear Corps of the Indian Army at the Drone Training Node in Jalukie, Nagaland, focusing on enhancing tactical surveillance and technical proficiency.

The exercise encompassed rigorous flight drills and situational simulations, showcasing the deployment of unmanned aerial systems across various operational roles.

This endeavor was observed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the 6 Sector Assam Rifles, who assessed the preparations and reviewed the technical setups of the participating teams.

He expressed satisfaction with the operational readiness exhibited by the personnel.
