Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 22 (NationPress) The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has joined forces with the Indian Army to boost its expertise in drone operations. A recent media announcement revealed that a specialized Drone Training Session for CISF personnel from ASG Indore was held at the Army War College in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. This session focused on essential elements of drone operations, including flight safety regulations and surveillance protocols, aiming to enhance operational readiness and technical skills.
The CISF emphasized that this training, conducted in partnership with the Indian Army, underscores its commitment to capacity building, skill enhancement, and the integration of advanced technologies for more effective security measures.
In light of the increasing threats posed by drone and cyberattacks on critical infrastructures, the CISF has devised strategies to mitigate such risks.
As a key aspect of its approach, the force has significantly expanded its drone and anti-drone training initiatives and has established a dedicated drone training and anti-drone capability center at its unit in Behror, Rajasthan.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has approved the creation of a Remote Pilot Training Organisation to facilitate training in drone operations and anti-drone systems.
Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spotlighted the pivotal role of the CISF within the nation's security framework during his speech at the 57th Raising Day event for the agency on March 6. He announced that the CISF would take on new responsibilities for managing aerial threats at crucial locations such as airports, seaports, and industrial zones, in addition to its current duties.
The CISF is responsible for safeguarding 70 airports nationwide and overseeing security for 361 significant institutions. It has played a crucial role in the security of various major projects like Kartavya Bhavan, Seva Teerth, Noida International Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport, Lengpui Airport, Jawaharpur Thermal Power Project, and the Bhakra Dam Project.
