Guwahati, Feb 16 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday that the state administration is on the verge of delivering on its commitment to provide 1.5 lakh jobs to the youth of Assam.
While speaking at an event, Chief Minister Sarma stated, "Our mission to empower the youth of Assam is progressing with great enthusiasm. In alignment with our pledge of over 1.5 lakh government jobs, I am handing out appointment letters to successful candidates across various services."
During the lead-up to the 2021 Assembly elections, CM Sarma vowed to offer one lakh government jobs if the BJP retained power in Assam.
As per the Chief Minister, the electoral promise was fulfilled last year, and the state government has now expanded its goal, aiming to provide 1.5 lakh jobs before the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for 2026.
He remarked, "We have successfully provided one lakh government jobs to the youth of Assam. This promise was made during the last Assembly election three years ago, and we accomplished the target ahead of schedule."
CM Sarma reiterated the state's objective of delivering 1.5 lakh government jobs.
"Following the fulfillment of the one lakh job electoral promise, we have progressed toward providing 1.5 lakh government jobs," he added.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that the process of transfer postings among employees is now managed via an application, eliminating the reliance on physical files.
"All transfer posting requests are now processed through an online portal, where government employees can apply for mutual transfers through the app, completing the entire process online. We have introduced significant flexibility in the transfer policy," he stated.
CM Sarma emphasized that this initiative would put an end to biases involving influential individuals, including political leaders, concerning the transfer postings of state government employees.
"In the coming days, no one will need to approach any MLA or Minister for a transfer posting in Assam," he concluded.
