Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday took oath as Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term in Guwahati, as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) formed the state government for the third straight time. Key Faces in the New Council of Ministers

Alongside Sarma, four ministers were inducted into the new Council of Ministers. Former Union Minister Rameswar Teli, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) President Atul Bora, United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) leader Charan Boro, and senior BJP leader Ajanta Neog took oath as Ministers. The formation reflects the multi-party coalition character of the NDA alliance in the northeastern state.
