New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) In light of the ongoing dispute regarding the video clip featuring former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta revealed the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report during the Assembly session on Saturday, asserting that the findings indicated there was no modification or tampering of the video.

While addressing a press conference, Gupta stated, “On January 8, 2026, during the Delhi Assembly session, the Opposition called for an investigation into the video footage due to raised concerns about its credibility. In response to this request, the recording from that session was forwarded to the Forensic Science Laboratory. I present this information clearly: It is the verbatim record from that day. Both the audio and video were submitted to the FSL, adhering to all applicable facts, regulations, and legal stipulations.”

Referring to the report's findings, the Speaker added, “We have obtained the FSL report concerning the authenticity of the video. The laboratory has conclusively stated that there is no tampering or alteration present in the video. It has been explicitly noted that there is no manipulation whatsoever.”

Gupta also mentioned that the Delhi Assembly unanimously decided to initiate a forensic examination of the video. However, unexpected developments occurred during the investigation process.

“On January 9, it came to light that the Punjab government had already conducted its own examination, finalized its report, and even filed an FIR. Consequently, the situation has now been completely clarified. The detailed forensic report we received unequivocally confirms that there has been no tampering or manipulation of the video,” he stated.

The Speaker emphasized that the report submitted to the Delhi Assembly highlighted the seriousness of the situation.

“The report demonstrates that, concerning the respect and dignity of the Gurus, a political party has, in some way, exploited government agencies and undermined the Gurus' honor. I urge the Leader of the Opposition to meet me in my chamber. If not, this matter will be taken very seriously in the future. They should admit their error, retract their statements, and issue an apology,” he said.

Gupta raised concerns regarding how the forensic examination conducted by another party was executed.

“The order does not clarify the parameters upon which the forensic laboratory based its examination. In other words, there is a lack of detailed information regarding the methodology or scope of the investigation. This raises serious concerns. There is no explanation about what type of manipulation was investigated, nor is there a thorough description of the forensic findings,” he added.

Regarding the Opposition's behavior, the Assembly Speaker remarked, “When the Leader of the Opposition was absent from the Assembly, despite the matter previously being raised in their presence, they should have responded promptly. We provided them an opportunity, but instead, they abruptly exited the Assembly and have remained absent since that day.”

Meanwhile, the political conflict between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) intensified on Thursday after a Punjab court acknowledged a forensic report pertaining to the controversial video involving Delhi Opposition Leader Atishi, with both parties exchanging new accusations.

The ruling from a Jalandhar court on Thursday led to conflicting assertions from both factions. The court mandated the removal of the video from social media platforms after reviewing a forensic report that indicated the term 'guru' was absent from the audio of the clip initially shared by BJP minister Kapil Mishra.
