Agartala, April 29 (NationPress) The Tripura Frontier of the Border Security Force (BSF) detained three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, for illegally entering India, as reported by officials.
The BSF also apprehended two Indian nationals (agents) from Khowai District for allegedly aiding the Bangladeshi citizens in their illegal entry into Tripura.
According to a BSF spokesman, acting on reliable intelligence, vigilant BSF personnel at Teliamura railway station intercepted the three Bangladeshi nationals, including a woman, as they attempted to board the Agartala-Silchar (Assam) train.
The individuals are reportedly from Habibganj District in the Sylhet Division of Bangladesh.
Furthermore, the BSF conducted various operations to disrupt attempts at trans-border smuggling along the India-Bangladesh border, seizing contraband valued at Rs 4 lakhs.
The BSF has intensified surveillance measures along the border to combat trans-border crime and infiltration.
