Jaipur, Feb 24 (NationPress) In a decisive move directed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters, the ACB unit in Jaipur Nagar apprehended Jagdish Prasad Meena, the Block Development Officer (BDO) for the panchayat samiti in Sawai Madhopur, on Tuesday. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe amounting to Rs 1,00,000.
As per the report from ACB Director General of Police (DGP) Govind Gupta, a complaint was lodged claiming that Meena was soliciting Rs 1,00,000 from both the complainant and two of his colleagues. This bribe was demanded in exchange for not relieving them from their positions as Branch Postmasters and for the clearance of overdue travel allowances along with other expenses.
The accused had even pressured the complainant to gather the bribe from his colleagues and hand it over to him.
After validating the complaint, a trap operation was executed on Tuesday under the oversight of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anand Sharma and led by Additional Superintendent of Police Bhupendra, ACB Jaipur Nagar-1.
During this operation, Meena was apprehended while accepting Rs 1,00,000 in bribes from the complainant at his residence located in Vivekananda Nagar, Kota.
Currently, under the supervision of ACB Additional Director General Smita Srivastava and the guidance of ACB Inspector General of Police Satendra Kumar, further investigations and legal actions are ongoing.
A formal case will be filed against the accused in accordance with the Prevention of Corruption Act, and additional inquiries will follow.
