Kolkata, Sep 16 (NationPress) The West Bengal BJP unit is preparing to initiate a series of events starting Wednesday to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday.
Party officials state that a week-long program will take place throughout the state to commemorate this milestone.
In Kolkata, a significant exhibition showcasing the life and legacy of Prime Minister Modi will be hosted at the Indian Museum.
State BJP President Samik Bhattacharya will inaugurate the exhibition on September 16, which will remain open until September 21.
Additionally, various charity initiatives such as blood donation camps and health clinics will be organized statewide starting Wednesday, as noted by a West Bengal BJP leader.
In a statement to IANS, Bengal BJP's state executive committee member Shatorupa remarked that the party conducts charitable activities annually to commemorate this occasion.
"This year is particularly special as the Prime Minister celebrates his 75th birthday. Tomorrow, the exhibition at the Indian Museum will highlight his life and contributions," she stated.
Born on September 17, 1950, in a small town in Gujarat, PM Modi made history on June 9, 2024, by being sworn in for a third consecutive term, making him the first non-Congress leader to achieve this and the second after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
To commemorate this occasion, the Narendra Cup football tournament final will also take place on Wednesday.
"Our party members will celebrate in every district. In addition, blood donation camps, health camps, and eye check-up camps will be organized in various locations. We will distribute fruits and mosquito nets to those in need. Our fishery cell will also conduct a coastline cleanup drive in West Bengal," the BJP leader shared.
At the state BJP office in Kolkata, plans are underway to distribute sweets among party workers and supporters.
Meanwhile, BJP leader and actor Rudranil Ghosh expressed to IANS on Tuesday that Narendra Modi is the only Prime Minister who has not only fulfilled his own promises but has also addressed the unfinished promises made by previous leaders, particularly regarding the welfare of underprivileged and tribal communities.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to PM Narendra Modi on his 75th birthday on Wednesday. While previous Prime Ministers have been respected, their unfinished tasks and promises were addressed by PM Modi, especially those concerning the underprivileged and tribal communities. His initiatives have significantly impacted people's rights, and we can see the results today. Hence, I sincerely congratulate Prime Minister Modi once again," Ghosh added.
