Kolkata, April 7 (NationPress) It is anticipated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at seven campaign events in West Bengal this week, commencing on April 9, during the pivotal two-phase Assembly elections in the state.

According to a provisional agenda from the Prime Minister's office, on April 9, he is expected to speak at three major rallies in Asansol (West Burdwan district), Suri (Birbhum district), and Haldia (East Midnapore district), sequentially,” disclosed a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s state committee.

On April 11, the Prime Minister is set to address three rallies: Jangipur (Murshidabad district), Katwa (East Burdwan district), and Balurghat (South Dinajpur district), as per the state committee member.

“The Prime Minister will be staying overnight in Siliguri (Darjeeling district) on April 11. The following day, on April 12, he will partake in a roadshow in Siliguri town,” the committee member further elaborated.

Earlier this month, on April 5, the Prime Minister initiated his campaign in the state with a significant rally in Cooch Behar town (Cooch Behar district).

“The Prime Minister is projected to engage in a total of 14 campaign activities, which include rallies and roadshows. His concluding event will take place in the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency in South Kolkata, where the Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari is contesting against the incumbent Trinamool Congress legislator and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The event in Bhabanipur is expected to be a mix of a rally and a roadshow,” the member noted.

The two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal are scheduled for April 23 and April 29. The first phase will cover 152 Assembly constituencies, while the second phase will include the remaining 142 constituencies. Election results will be announced on May 4.
