Kolkata, April 9 (NationPress) In the midst of intense campaigning for the two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to conduct three back-to-back rallies across three districts on Thursday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also scheduled to arrive in Kolkata on Thursday, with a jam-packed campaign itinerary for Friday and Saturday.
The Prime Minister's campaign will kick off with his speech at a rally in the industrial hub of Haldia located in the East Midnapore district. Following this, he will speak at two additional rallies—first in the industrial township of Asansol in West Burdwan district and then in Suri in Birbhum district.
Additionally, the Union Home Minister will reach Kolkata in the evening. While his schedule for Thursday remains unconfirmed, he is expected to address a major rally in Deba in the West Midnapore district on Friday, followed by a roadshow in Kharagpur within the same district.
On Saturday, the Union Home Minister will host two rallies, initially at Chhatna in Bankura district and later at Baghmundi in Purulia district.
The Prime Minister has a busy agenda in West Bengal on Saturday, where he plans to address three consecutive rallies in Jangipur in Murshidabad district, Katwa in East Burdwan district, and Balurghat in South Dinajpur district.
On April 11, the Prime Minister will spend the night in Siliguri in the Darjeeling district, and the following day, April 12, he is set to participate in a roadshow in Siliguri town.
His campaign in the state commenced on April 5 with a significant rally in Cooch Behar town in Cooch Behar district.
Conversely, on Thursday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also have a packed agenda, including five consecutive rallies at Minakhan, Noyapara, Panihati, Baranagar, and Rajarhat-Gopalpur, all situated in the North 24 Parganas district.
The two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal are set for April 23 and April 29. The first phase will see voting in 152 Assembly constituencies, while the second phase will cover the remaining 142 constituencies, with results to be announced on May 4.
