Kolkata, Oct 17 (NationPress) The BJP's West Bengal branch has enlisted its well-known media panellists, who frequently contribute to television discussions, for a significant block-level outreach initiative.
The leadership of the state has instructed these individuals to travel across various districts starting from the first week of next month to engage with local residents, addressing their concerns regarding the administration and the ruling Trinamool Congress.
Additionally, according to a member of the state committee, these media panellists are tasked with informing the populace about the potential development initiatives they could anticipate should the BJP ascend to power in the state following the 2025 Assembly elections. They will also elucidate the benefits of having the same party govern both at the Centre and in the state.
Sources indicate that the initiative to incorporate media panellists was primarily conceived by Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav, who has been designated by the party as the campaign head for the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections in the state.
Recently, the state committee member noted that Yadav convened a meeting with the media panellists to brief them on their roles in the outreach programs.
“These media panellists are already recognized figures among the populace due to their consistent involvement in television discussions. Therefore, the party aims to leverage their popularity for a successful outreach campaign ahead of next year's elections,” remarked the state committee member.
After each district visit, the respective media panellist must report their insights from the outreach efforts back to the state leadership. “These insights will be key in refining and enhancing the campaign strategy,” the state committee member stated.
The outreach programs are expected to commence primarily in districts of North Bengal, along with areas that have significant tribal and economically disadvantaged populations, given that the BJP has a solid fan base and committed voter demographics in these regions.
“Focus districts will include Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Bankura, Purulia, and areas dominated by the Matua Community in Nadia and North 24 Parganas,” the state committee member added.
