Kolkata, Aug 30 (NationPress) The West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBCSSC) has officially released the list of 'tainted ineligible' candidates in accordance with the directive from the Supreme Court. The apex court mandated that this list be made public within a week.
On Saturday, the commission met the deadline by publishing the names on its website, revealing a total of 1,804 individuals.
The notice stated, “Following the Order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India dated 28.08.2025, the list of candidates as specified in List 1 is provided below. These individuals were selected, but their appointments have been annulled by the Hon'ble High Court and this decision has been endorsed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court. This list is published on the official website of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission to ensure transparency regarding these tainted candidates.”
In addition to the notice, the list featuring the roll numbers of the tainted candidates has been made available.
Upcoming SSC recruitment exams are slated for September 7 and 14. The Supreme Court bench, comprising Justice Sanjay Kumar and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, has ruled that 'tainted and ineligible' candidates will be barred from participating in these exams.
On Thursday, the Supreme Court instructed that the commission publish the names of these ineligible job seekers within a week. These candidates had previously secured teaching positions in state-run schools through the SSC recruitment scam.
In compliance with the Supreme Court's directive, the commission has now disclosed the list of 'tainted and ineligible' job seekers to the public.
The published list contains 1,804 names. Initially, there were expectations that the list would be made public by 3 PM on Saturday.
However, after an extensive meeting and receiving legal counsel, the SSC ultimately published the list on its website later in the evening. Notably, the list does not differentiate how many of the 'tainted ineligibles' received appointments for grades 9-10 and 11-12.
