Bengaluru, Oct 22 (NationPress) - In a deeply unsettling event, a group of five individuals, posing as police informants, invaded a home and gang-raped a woman from West Bengal after brutally attacking her son and others.

This incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Madanayakanahalli police station located on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The apprehended suspects have been identified as Karthik, Glen, and Siyog. Law enforcement agencies have initiated a manhunt for the remaining suspects. The gang also stole Rs 50,000 in cash and the victim's mobile device after the heinous act.

Bengaluru Rural SP C.K. Baba stated on Wednesday, "The incident transpired on Tuesday night. A group of five men invaded the victim’s home, restrained and assaulted two men, and subsequently committed gang rape. Once the incident was reported, police promptly responded and conducted an investigation. A formal complaint of gang rape and robbery has been filed."

SP Baba further mentioned that the two men who were assaulted are currently receiving treatment at NIMHANS. Three suspects have been detained, and three specialized police teams have been established to locate the other two. The case is being handled with utmost seriousness, with the Deputy SP of Nelamangala Division overseeing the investigation.

According to police reports, the five-member gang forcefully entered the rented home of a family from West Bengal on Tuesday night. They claimed to be operatives from the Peenya police station, alleging that they were conducting a raid based on a tip-off regarding the family's involvement in drug dealing and prostitution.

The gang assaulted the victim's son and also attacked her female friend. They then dragged the victim into a separate room and gang-raped her. During this horrific assault, the victim’s son managed to call the police. By the time officers arrived, the perpetrators had already escaped.

Based on the victim's account, police promptly identified two of the suspects. Acting quickly, three suspects were arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
