The victim has lodged a formal complaint with the police regarding the incident.

She has been hospitalized, and authorities are awaiting the medical report to validate the claims of gang rape.

The suspects were taken into custody within 24 hours of the complaint being filed.

The individuals have been identified as Prabhuraj from Mulki, along with Mani and Mithun from Kumpala.

The victim stated that she was a victim of gang rape.

The Ullal police have registered a case and are actively investigating the situation.

Mangaluru Superintendent of Police (SP) Anupam Agarwal indicated that the incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday.

At 1:30 a.m., police received an emergency call on helpline 112 alerting them that a young woman was being assaulted and was calling for help.

The police quickly responded to the location and transported the woman to a hospital.

She is currently receiving treatment, the SP added.

The victim reported that she was coerced into consuming alcohol, which led to her losing consciousness.

Upon regaining awareness, she discovered her undergarments were missing.

Realizing the situation, she began to shout, causing the assailants to flee.

She then managed to reach out to nearby residents and contacted the police, the SP noted.

Based on her statement, a case of sexual assault has been filed.

Initial investigations have shown that the woman is from the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal.

She had previously been employed at a plywood factory in Kerala and arrived in Mangaluru on Wednesday with a friend in search of new job opportunities.

After an argument with her friend, during which her phone was damaged, she left and took an auto-rickshaw to get it repaired.

She spent approximately five to six hours with the auto driver, who also covered the repair costs.

She then requested a ride to the railway station to return to West Bengal.

Instead of heading to the station, the suspects allegedly took her to another location and summoned two of their friends.

They reportedly forced her to drink alcohol until she lost consciousness.

When she awoke, she realized she had been sexually assaulted.

The victim has asserted that she was raped, and the police are expected to verify this through a medical examination, the SP confirmed.
