Mangaluru, Sep 3 (NationPress) The Karnataka Police have taken into custody eight individuals linked to a gang-rape incident involving a minor, alongside the viral dissemination of a video showcasing the assault on social media, as confirmed by authorities on Wednesday.
This distressing incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Bajpe police station in Mangaluru.
According to police reports, a man was responsible for raping the minor victim, while another individual recorded the heinous act. The remaining accused facilitated the viral spread of the video. The incident unfolded in June, prompting the victim to lodge a formal complaint.
The police have charged the man who committed the rape and the individual who filmed the assault with gang-rape.
As per police statements, one of the accused had established contact with the victim via Instagram. He subsequently lured her to a secluded area where the crime was carried out.
Post-assault, the accused circulated the video among their friends, leading to its publication on social media platforms.

Upon noticing the gathering crowd, the accused allegedly strangled the girl to death and fled the scene.
