Hubballi, Jan 18 (NationPress) A 38-year-old man has been apprehended after being accused of raping a minor girl and subsequently blackmailing her with private videos in the city of Hubballi, Karnataka.
The suspect, identified as Ashfaq Jogankoppa, resides in KEB Layout, Sharavathinagar.
Reports indicate that Ashfaq operated a photocopy and mobile shop in Tipunagar.
He would engage in flirtatious conversations with minor girls and women visiting his shop for mobile recharges, feigning romantic interest.
Once the unsuspecting victims fell for his charm, he sexually exploited them and recorded these acts on his mobile device. He later leveraged these private videos to blackmail his victims, continuing the cycle of exploitation.
Authorities noted that he specifically targeted underprivileged minor girls by showcasing his ability to lavishly spend on them.
His criminal activities came to light when the parents of one victim reported him to the Kasabapet Police Station.
Following the complaint, Inspector Raghavendra Hallura from the Kasabapet Police Station arrested the suspect in Hubballi.
Police discovered private videos of over 10 women on the accused's mobile phone.
Additionally, he recorded himself with some victims during these illicit encounters, according to police sources.
