Hubballi, Jan 4 (NationPress) In a troubling incident, two distinct cases of sexual assault involving minor girls by groups of boys have emerged in Hubballi, Karnataka, this past Sunday.
The authorities have apprehended seven minors in relation to these cases.
Both incidents were reported under the jurisdiction of the Shahar and Ashok Nagar police stations in Hubballi.
The police have initiated investigations by registering cases under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
In the Shahar police station incident, a minor girl was assaulted by three minors. The police acted promptly and took all three suspects into custody.
Meanwhile, at the Ashok Nagar police station, another minor girl faced sexual harassment and assault from two minors. Authorities have also indicated that there are claims of an assault on the girl's father by the same accused.
Four suspects have been detained and are currently under interrogation for further investigation.
