Bengaluru, Nov 11 (NationPress) The Bengaluru Police apprehended two individuals and recovered 42 stolen Royal Enfield motorcycles valued at nearly Rs 1 crore from them on Tuesday.
As per police reports, a complaint was filed at the Adugodi Police Station in 2023 by a resident of Jayanagar second Block. The complainant indicated that on March 24, 2023, he had parked his Royal Enfield motorcycle in front of a friend’s residence in Wilson Garden and went inside. Upon his return, he discovered his motorcycle had been stolen.
Following the complaint, a case of two-wheeler theft was initiated at the Adugodi Police Station.
Throughout the investigation, officers explored various leads and, acting on reliable tips from informants, apprehended one suspect on October 16 in Payyur Village, Rajiv Gandhi Street, M.G.R. Nagar, Tamil Nadu, alongside one stolen Royal Enfield motorcycle.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to stealing Royal Enfield motorcycles from multiple locations across Bengaluru, including this case.
On October 17, the suspect was presented in court and remanded to 20 days of police custody.
Through extensive interrogation, he disclosed that he sold stolen Royal Enfield motorcycles to acquaintances and relatives in Tamil Nadu. Continuing the probe, from October 17 to November 7 this year, the police retrieved 42 Royal Enfield motorcycles from the suspect’s associates in Tamil Nadu.
Including the bike seized during the arrest, a total of 42 Royal Enfield motorcycles were recovered, collectively valued at Rs 1 crore.
This arrest has led to the resolution of 37 Royal Enfield two-wheeler theft cases across various police stations in Bengaluru. The investigation is ongoing.
In a separate incident, Indiranagar police apprehended two bike thieves and seized 20 two-wheelers worth Rs 24 lakh.
A resident of Old Binnamangala, within the jurisdiction of Indiranagar Police Station, lodged a complaint on October 17, 2025. The complainant mentioned that on September 28, he had parked his two-wheeler outside his home, only to find it missing the next morning.
Following this complaint, a two-wheeler theft case was registered at the Indiranagar Police Station.
During the investigation, officers pursued various leads and garnered credible information from informants.
Acting on this, the police team arrested two suspects near Michael Palya Park, Indiranagar.
Upon interrogation, both confessed to the theft in collaboration with another individual and acknowledged stealing two-wheelers from different regions of Bengaluru as well as outside the state.
During sustained questioning, the suspects revealed that out of the stolen two-wheelers, 13 vehicles had been given to an acquaintance in Anna Nagar, Tamil Nadu for sale, 6 vehicles were parked in a vacant plot at Kadiranapalya, and 1 vehicle was located near their residence in R.T. Nagar.
The arrests have resolved 15 cases.
In an unrelated case, Bengaluru police arrested a foreign national for trafficking the banned narcotic substance MDMA Crystals, seizing 537 grams of the substance worth Rs 1.07 crore.
On November 7, officers from Avalahalli Police Station received credible information about a foreign national residing near Kammasandra Circle who was selling banned narcotic substances to associates for illegal profit.
Acting on this information, the police team conducted a raid and apprehended the foreign national.
During questioning, the accused admitted to purchasing MDMA crystals at a lower price from unknown individuals and reselling them for profit.
During the operation, the police seized 537 grams of MDMA crystals from the accused's possession. The total value of the seized narcotic is Rs 1.07 crore, and a case has been registered under the NDPS Act and the Foreigners Act at Avalahalli Police Station.
