Bihar Agricultural University Appointed as Nodal Agency by NITI Aayog for 'Mission Purvodaya'

New Delhi, Dec 21 (NationPress) In a pivotal step towards the holistic development of eastern India, Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, Bhagalpur, has been appointed as the nodal agency by NITI Aayog under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious Mission Purvodaya.

The initiative aims to promote growth across the eastern region, which includes states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, and Andhra Pradesh.

This program aims to tackle the distinct challenges and available opportunities in agriculture, rural development, and associated sectors in eastern India.

It aspires to develop a comprehensive state-level strategy by thoroughly examining these dynamics.

Recognizing BAU's exceptional research capabilities and specialized knowledge, NITI Aayog has assigned this vital role to the university.

The project will scrutinize key regional issues, assess the effectiveness of current regional initiatives, and establish achievable development targets.

Based on these assessments, it will delineate necessary interventions to accomplish these objectives. The overarching goal is to transform the eastern region into a growth engine, in line with the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat'.

On this occasion, Dr. D.R. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of BAU, remarked, “This appointment is a matter of great pride and responsibility for us. We are dedicated to utilizing all our expertise and resources to ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative.”
