Patna, April 15 (NationPress) Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal on Tuesday refuted rumors about divisions within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), emphasizing that there is no internal conflict.
"Jitan Ram Manjhi is extremely content - indeed, he is even happier than we are. We met this morning and everything is perfectly fine. There are absolutely no issues within the NDA. We are participating in the Bihar elections with our full force," Jaiswal stated.
This declaration follows Jitan Ram Manjhi, the head of Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) and a Union MSME Minister, requesting 35 to 40 seats in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, claiming that his party could win 20 seats if given an equitable opportunity.
Union Minister Manjhi reaffirmed his stance that the Chief Minister position will be determined post-elections, continuing to create uncertainty within the alliance regarding leadership.
Regarding Rashtriya Lok Jantatntrik Party (RLJP) leader Pashupati Kumar Paras exiting the NDA, Jaiswal clarified that the BJP's alliance is exclusively with Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan.
"Our alliance is not with that party. It's not our concern," he remarked about Paras' intention to compete for all 243 Bihar seats independently.
On the opposition side, Jaiswal criticized Tejashwi Yadav's meeting with Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, labeling the Mahagathbandhan as a "mismatched alliance".
"RJD and Congress are akin to frogs on a scale - neither party wishes for the other to prosper. Congress seeks a more significant role, but RJD will not permit it. Their alliance will not yield any substantial results," he noted.
Importantly, after meeting with Tejashwi, Kharge shared on X, "This time, change is certain in Bihar. Today we met the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr Tejashwi Yadav, and discussed strengthening the Grand Alliance. In the upcoming elections, we will present the people of Bihar with a robust, positive, just, and welfare-oriented option. Bihar will be liberated from BJP and its opportunistic alliance. Youth, farmers-laborers, women, backward, extremely backward, and all other societal segments desire a Grand Alliance government."
Jaiswal also urged West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to "improve" her conduct following the violence in her state concerning the Waqf law.
