New Delhi, March 29 (NationPress) BJP National President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda referred to Bihar as a land that birthed democracy and introduced the world to governance based on public mandate.

Speaking at the "Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat Sneh Milan Samaroh" held at Dr. Ambedkar International Center to mark Bihar Day, J.P. Nadda highlighted that when the NDA government assumed control in Bihar in 2005, the rural road network measured only 384 km. Today, an impressive 1,12,000 km of roads have been constructed across the state.

“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, numerous new district hospitals have been established in Bihar through the double-engine government, including the upcoming construction of Asia's largest hospital in Patna,” Nadda stated, criticizing the lawlessness that prevailed under the previous Lalu Yadav-led administration.

In a fierce critique of the RJD, Nadda remarked that the era of Lalu Raj had plunged Bihar into chaos.

“There was a time when venturing outside after 5 p.m. was perilous, but under the NDA government, Bihar has reached unprecedented levels of development,” he added.

Attendees included Delhi unit BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Delhi Lok Sabha MPs Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, along with Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood and party's National Spokesperson Pratyush Kanth.

This celebration holds importance as the BJP believes its recent success in the Assembly elections stemmed from robust support from the Purvanchali community in Bihar.

The event also served as an opportunity for the party to connect with voters in election-bound Bihar and their relatives residing in Delhi.

Assembly elections to elect new 243 legislators in Bihar are set for October-November.

The program was coordinated by Purvanchal Morcha President Santosh Ojha, who noted that today, the people of Purvanchal are actively contributing to the economic, social, and spiritual advancement of both Delhi and the nation.

They are also pleased to see the progress achieved by the double-engine government in Bihar under PM Modi, he added.

The event included an exhibition celebrating Bihar's folk festival Chhath, featuring folk songs, folk art, and various tableaux that showcased different facets of Bihar. The Mithila paintings and handicrafts received widespread admiration. Furthermore, arrangements were made for Bihar’s traditional dish, Litti Chokha.
