Patna, April 18 (NationPress) The chief of Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi seems to have eased his previous firm position regarding seat allocation in the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Previously outspoken about vying for 40 to 50 seats, Manjhi is now closely aligning with the unified message of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), stressing the importance of cohesion and collaboration.

During a media interaction on Friday, when asked about the number of seats his party intends to contest, Manjhi remarked: "The NDA is gearing up to compete for all seats collectively. We are entirely prepared. There are no disagreements within the NDA concerning seat distribution. We will convene and make a united decision. We will contest the elections together."

Manjhi firmly stated that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be the representative face of the NDA in the forthcoming elections.

“The 2025 elections will be conducted under the guidance of Nitish Kumar. He will be the Chief Minister—there should be no doubt about this,” he affirmed.

Touching on remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah, Manjhi remarked: “Even HM Shah has explicitly stated that Nitish Kumar is our CM candidate. There is no room for debate on this.”

In a critique of the opposition Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) and Tejashwi Yadav, Manjhi questioned the legitimacy of the coordination committee established under Tejashwi's authority.

“He may have been appointed as the chairman of the coordination committee, but that does not imply he is the leader. These individuals will never unite and will not officially designate Tejashwi as their Chief Ministerial candidate,” he asserted.

Addressing rumors regarding Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani potentially rejoining the BJP, Manjhi stated: “That is his personal affair. However, one thing is clear—the Grand Alliance will never appoint him as Deputy CM. The public will not support him, and he will not succeed.”

Manjhi also delivered a scathing analysis of the government led by Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal, referencing ongoing incidents of violence in the region.

“What is transpiring under Mamata Banerjee's governance is a breach of the Constitution. The Central government must intervene promptly, as law and order are being blatantly disregarded,” he stated.
