Patna, Oct 9 (NationPress) Following the pledge made by Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), to secure one government job for every family, leaders from the NDA in Bihar were quick to respond with sharp criticism.
Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh ridiculed Tejashwi Yadav's promises, referencing the infamous land-for-jobs scandal associated with his father, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
“It’s amusing to hear him speak about providing jobs. His father traded jobs for land. What are his plans now?” Singh remarked.
Continuing his rebuke, Giriraj Singh questioned Tejashwi’s effectiveness during his previous term in government.
“You boast about competing with Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, yet what did the RJD accomplish in 15 years of governance? You held a ministerial position—what did you achieve in your department? All you’ve done is deceive,” he asserted.
Regarding seat-sharing within the NDA, Giriraj Singh refuted claims of discord, emphasizing that unity prevails within the coalition.
“The primary parties are BJP and JDU. Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, and Upendra Kushwaha have the right to voice their concerns, but there is no animosity. The NDA remains intact,” he added.
In a similar vein, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also mocked Tejashwi’s pledge, branding it a manifestation of desperation for power.
“Such declarations are merely desperate attempts to seize power,” Manjhi posted on X.
“At this pace, it wouldn’t be surprising if Tejashwi Yadav soon claims that every household in Bihar will receive a farmhouse on the Moon and Mars if the RJD comes to power,” he further commented.
Taking a jab, he remarked, “No matter how hard a donkey tries, it cannot sprout horns.”
Earlier today, Tejashwi Yadav announced, “The election campaign in Bihar has officially begun. Hence, I declare that once our government is in place, every family in Bihar will have one member employed in a government job within 20 months.”
