Patna, Jan 17 (NationPress) A newlywed woman has tragically died under mysterious circumstances in Bihar's Vaishali district, leading to serious accusations against her in-laws.

The case took a shocking turn when it was revealed that her body was allegedly abandoned outside her parental home in the Pedia Bazar area, under the jurisdiction of the Harihar Nath Police Station in Saran district, during the night. Reports indicate that the vehicle used in this act is registered to a police sub-inspector.

According to family members, the accused arrived in a black Scorpio vehicle around 12:30 a.m. on January 16, left the woman's body at her parents' doorstep, and then fled.

Upon discovering her body in the morning, the family was thrown into chaos. CCTV footage from outside the house reportedly captured the entire incident, showing individuals arriving in the Scorpio and abandoning the body before making their escape.

The SHO of Harihar Nath Police Station confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle involved in the crime has been seized, and an investigation is ongoing.

The case gained further attention when investigators found that the Scorpio vehicle is allegedly owned by a police sub-inspector named Santosh Rajak, currently stationed in Muzaffarpur district.

This connection to a serving police officer has raised serious concerns within the police department.

Authorities are now examining whether the sub-inspector had any direct involvement or if his vehicle was misappropriated without his knowledge.

The father of the deceased, Jayprakash Mahto, shared that his daughter, Sarita, was married to Satyendra Kumar, a resident of Kartahan Buzurg village in Vaishali district, approximately nine months ago.

He alleged that despite providing dowry according to his means, the in-laws continued to demand more money.

According to the complaint, Rs 8 lakh had already been given for land registration, but Sarita's in-laws were demanding an additional Rs 3 lakh. The family claims that Sarita faced constant harassment due to these demands and was ultimately killed.

The father noted that there were visible strangulation marks on her neck.

The grieving family has called for the strictest punishment for the husband and his family, describing the incident as not just a crime but a stain on society.

Based on the father's account, the Harihar Nath police have registered an FIR against five individuals, including the husband.

The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination.

Police teams are conducting raids based on the CCTV footage and are working to identify all individuals seen in the Scorpio vehicle.

District police officials stated that the investigation is being handled with utmost seriousness, particularly given the vehicle's connection to a police officer, and they assured that arrests will be made shortly.
