Patna, Nov 10 (NationPress) In preparation for the second phase of polling in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, security forces are on high alert throughout the state. Bihar Police has implemented comprehensive security measures for the elections scheduled for November 11.
The security presence is anticipated to be significantly enhanced compared to the first phase, which was held on November 6.
This phase will see voting across 122 Assembly constituencies in 20 districts.
Several of these districts are located near international and interstate borders, prompting Bihar Police to increase vigilance in these regions.
Special security protocols have been established in seven key districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Madhubani, Araria, and Kishanganj, particularly along the Indo–Nepal border. Surveillance has also been heightened along borders with Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
The International Borders have been completely secured, and inter-state borders have been closed since Sunday evening to prevent any unauthorized movement.
District Superintendents of Police have been instructed to enhance vigilance and increase patrols in border areas.
In accordance with the directives from the Election Commission of India (ECI), a total of 1,650 companies of central security forces are being deployed throughout the state to facilitate a peaceful and fair election process.
Additional units of the state police have also been dispatched to districts, with particular emphasis on sensitive polling locations.
The ECI has mandated district police chiefs to guarantee that polling stations are free from disturbances.
Security agencies plan to utilize drones and CCTV cameras for surveillance, and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been activated for rapid response in emergencies.
Encouraging voters to participate fearlessly, Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar stated, “Elections are the festival of democracy. Our goal is to provide a secure and fair environment for every voter.”
It is important to note that the first phase of voting was completed peacefully. Security forces are now concentrating on the upcoming second phase, which encompasses numerous sensitive regions. DGP Kumar asserts that Bihar Police is thoroughly prepared to ensure free, fair, and peaceful voting on November 11.
