Patna, Feb 16 (NationPress) The Vaishali Police in Bihar conducted a successful operation on Monday, rescuing three women and detaining three individuals, including a juvenile, during raids at two hotels in the district, as reported by an official.
The hotels, Abhishek Vaishali Hotel and The Royal Cafe & Restaurant, situated at Kharouna Pokhar within the jurisdiction of the Vaishali police station, were allegedly being utilized for illicit activities aimed at generating revenue by the hotel’s owner and management.
A special team was assembled under the guidance of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sadar-02 (Lalganj), along with the Station House Officer from Vaishali police station, the Circle Officer of Lalganj, and female police officers, all following directives from the Superintendent of Police, Vaishali.
During the operation, the authorities successfully rescued three women from the two establishments.
In addition, three individuals were arrested, and a juvenile was taken into custody. Officers also seized five mobile phones, ₹2,040 in cash, three receipts, a register, and a wristwatch from the locations.
A formal case has been lodged at the Vaishali police station, and further legal proceedings are in progress.
The individuals apprehended have been identified as Neeraj Kumar and Mukesh Sahani, both residents of Vaishali district, and Mahesh Mahto, hailing from Saran district.
In a different operation, the Rohtas police executed a raid in the red-light area of Bikramganj, causing a stir in the area.
Authorities indicated that they received reports about women participating in dancing and singing in Dhangai village.
In response to the information, a verification initiative was carried out, resulting in the detention of six individuals, including four women associated with an orchestra. They were taken to the police station for further inquiries.
Officials confirmed that all the detained women are adults engaged in orchestra performances at social gatherings such as weddings.
The process of verifying identities is currently underway.
Bikramganj SDPO Sindhu Shekhar Singh remarked that this operation was part of standard police procedures and that investigations are ongoing.
