Patna, April 26 (NationPress) On Saturday, authorities apprehended a man in the Vaishali district of Bihar for the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl, according to officials.
The suspect has been named as Lalbabu Ram (40), who lives near the victim.
Confirming the incident, Kumari Durga Shakti, the State Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the Mahua range, stated: "We are proceeding with legal measures against the accused. An FIR has been lodged under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO acts concerning kidnapping and rape at the Baligaon police station. The accused was apprehended within 24 hours following the crime."
"We have examined the crime scene, and our Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has gathered evidence. Additionally, a medical examination of the victim confirmed the occurrence of sexual assault," SDPO Shakti elaborated.
As reported by officials, the incident took place when the victim was en route to a nearby shop with ₹10 to purchase biscuits.
The accused allegedly enticed the girl and abducted her.

Furthermore, the accused confiscated the child's mobile phone and discarded it.
Investigations revealed that Lalbabu Ram had previously been involved in two similar rape cases that were resolved socially without police intervention.

The accused is currently undergoing questioning, and authorities are intensifying their investigation into any further allegations against him.
Earlier, on February 27, a 14-year-old minor girl was gang-raped by two individuals in Vaishali.
The district police arrested three suspects, including a woman related to this case.
A female suspect, Pakija Khatun alias Phullo, lured the minor and handed her over to two young men.
The victim's father filed a complaint at the police station on March 1.
The suspects were identified as Pintu Kumar and Chotu Kumar. They have been charged under the POCSO Act.
