Patna, Dec 17 (NationPress) The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) in Bihar executed a significant operation against corruption on Wednesday, conducting coordinated raids at various locations associated with Junior Engineer Mohammad Ansarul Haque, who is currently stationed in Darbhanga.
The engineer faces allegations of amassing assets far exceeding his officially declared income.
The SVU has initiated a case concerning disproportionate assets against Mohammad Ansarul Haque, who is employed in the Planning and Development Department of the Bihar government.
Preliminary investigations indicate that he has acquired assets valued at Rs 1,46,95,530, representing an increase of approximately 458.72% over his legitimate income, according to a vigilance official.
On December 16, 2025, a case was registered at Vigilance Police Station Case No. 113/2025.
With a search warrant from the Special Vigilance Court in Muzaffarpur, four teams executed simultaneous raids across Darbhanga and Madhubani districts on Wednesday.
Search operations are currently active at two residential sites and an office in Jamalpur, near Naya Tola Mosque, as well as the Lalbagh area of Darbhanga city.
The ancestral home of the accused, located in Hariraha village under Ladaniya Panchayat and Andhramath Police Station in Madhubani district, is also under investigation.
Vigilance sources have confirmed that Mohammad Ansarul Haque’s permanent residence is in Andhramath, Madhubani, and he owns additional properties in Lalbagh and Jamalpur in Darbhanga.
All locations are being meticulously searched for evidence concerning both movable and immovable assets, including documents, bank statements, and investment records.
The raids extended late into the evening.
The Vigilance Department has stated that the investigation is ongoing and that full details regarding any recoveries will be disclosed post-search.
On Tuesday, the SVU also made significant moves against Gajadhar Mandal, a Director in the Building Construction Department, for a separate case of disproportionate assets.
SVU teams raided four locations in Patna and Bhagalpur, revealing substantial illegal assets.
During these searches, officials recovered documents for 16 plots of land valued at Rs 3,41,81,000, fixed deposits and shares worth Rs 30.80 lakh in the names of the accused and his spouse, gold and silver jewelry worth around Rs 8 lakh, and cash totaling Rs 1,88,500.
Investigators also uncovered evidence of investments in LIC, Star Health, and various financial schemes, all of which are currently under thorough review.
The Vigilance Bureau reiterated its commitment to pursuing strict action against corrupt officials, ensuring that none involved in illicit wealth accumulation will evade accountability.
