New Delhi, July 14 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) reported that 83.66 percent of 7.89 crore voters in Bihar have had their Enumeration Forms (EFs) collected, with 11 days remaining until the deadline for submitting the completed forms as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll.
According to an official statement, after two rounds of door-to-door outreach by Booth Level Officers, EFs from 6.60 crore voters have been gathered from the total electorate in Bihar.
To date, 1.59 percent of electors have been reported deceased, 2.2 percent have relocated permanently, and 0.73 percent were found to be registered at multiple locations.
This means that 88.18 percent of voters have either submitted their EFs, passed away, or maintained their registration at a single address, or have moved out permanently.
As a result, only 11.82 percent of voters are yet to submit their completed forms, many of whom have requested additional time for submission.
Approximately 100,000 Booth Level Officers will soon commence a third round of door-to-door visits, supported by 150,000 Booth Level Agents appointed by various political parties, each capable of certifying and submitting up to 50 EFs daily.
To guarantee that no eligible urban voter is overlooked, special camps are being established across all 5,683 wards in 261 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) throughout Bihar.
In a significant move towards modern technology and digitization, the newly launched ECINet platform by the ECI integrates the previous 40 ECI applications and is effectively utilized for all components of the Bihar SIR initiative.
Through the ECINet platform, voters can fill out their EFs online and search for their names in the 2003 Electoral Roll as needed.
Voters can also connect with their election officials, including their BLOs, via the ECINet App.
The ECINet system is expediting the updating process of forms and documents for election functionaries, resulting in the uploading of over 5.74 crore EFs by 6 p.m. on Monday.
The document review module within ECINet has also enhanced the speed of eligibility verification for voters by AEROs, EROs, and DEOs in a more streamlined manner.
