New Delhi, July 15 (NationPress) With the deadline for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar drawing near, the Election Commission has successfully gathered 86.32 percent of the Enumeration Forms (EFs) from the electorate.
Out of a total of 7.89 crore electors, more than 6.81 crore EFs have been collected.
After factoring in deceased, relocated, and duplicate voters, the electoral body, in a press release on Tuesday, reported that the initiative has effectively accounted for 90.84 percent of the electorate. With just 10 days remaining until the July 25 deadline, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are preparing for a third round of household visits.
This outreach aims to connect with households that were previously overlooked due to the temporary absence of residents.
BLOs will reach out to the remaining 9.16 percent of electors individually to guarantee their inclusion in the draft electoral roll, which is scheduled for publication on August 1, 2025.
To bolster this effort, special camps have been organized across all 5,683 wards of 261 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in the state. Ongoing public awareness campaigns, including advertisements in newspapers, are encouraging voters to complete and submit their EFs promptly. Voters are also being urged to fill out their forms online via the ECINet App or the official website.
The portal has already received over 6.2 crore uploaded forms, with numbers steadily increasing.
A new module enabling voters to check the status of their EF submission will become available tonight on the same website. BLOs are being supported by 1.5 lakh Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties.
Each BLA has the capacity to certify and submit up to 50 forms daily, expediting the collection process.
Election officials have reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that no eligible voter is overlooked, especially in urban regions, as they prepare for the upcoming electoral roll update.
