During a press briefing at the BJP headquarters, Patra emphasized that these reforms have catalyzed record-high sales in the automobile industry, along with significant savings for everyday households on essential commodities and medicines.
“Maruti Suzuki, a prominent player in the industry, shattered its 35-year record today. Hyundai showrooms also reported their highest sales in five years. On the very first day alone, Maruti successfully delivered 25,000 vehicles,” Patra mentioned.
He further noted that dealerships nationwide operated until midnight to fulfill deliveries, with over 80,000 inquiries logged and bookings reaching 75,000.
“Tata Motors recorded 25,000 inquiries and delivered 10,000 vehicles on the inaugural day. The enthusiasm from customers has been akin to a festival, whether it’s Mahindra or other brands,” he remarked.
Patra also pointed out the positive impact in the healthcare sector, indicating that prices for essential medications have decreased following the GST rate adjustments.
“On the first day, patients purchasing medications for blood pressure and diabetes saved between Rs 300-500. Cancer patients, as well as those requiring medicines for throat infections, fever, and other common ailments, have also benefited,” he stated.
He noted that the reforms have lowered costs not only for pharmaceuticals and health insurance but also for footwear, clothing, and electronic goods, providing extensive relief to the average citizen.
“Yesterday, BJP and NDA ministers visited marketplaces across the nation to engage with shopkeepers and customers. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People expressed that this truly represents a festival of savings,” Patra remarked, emphasizing that these reforms will enhance purchasing power and uplift consumer confidence.
Highlighting the favorable timing of the reforms, Patra stated, “The fact that this coincides with the very first day of Navratra is a blessing. It feels like a celebration for every household.”
