Agartala, Sep 26 (NationPress) - The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, articulated on Thursday that the advancement of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) is essential for the overall progress of the state.
During a party event, he emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to the comprehensive development of our Janajati (tribal) brothers and sisters.
He welcomed 920 voters from 230 families who joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party at the Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan.
CM Saha noted that due to the government's positive and proactive initiatives, happiness is spreading among the Janajati community.
He deemed the induction of these 920 individuals into the BJP as a landmark moment, urging the public to make timely and wise decisions.
“We have witnessed the exploitation of Janajati people for political gain, and it is our duty to liberate them from such manipulative politics. When I observe Janajati individuals, I notice a lack of smiles. It is our responsibility to bring joy to their lives. Historically, no Prime Minister has prioritized the Janajati community,” Saha remarked.
He asserted that the welfare initiatives for tribals began under former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and were furthered when Modi took office in 2014.
“PM Modi consistently emphasizes that we must consider the most marginalized members of society, and we are dedicated to ensuring they receive all necessary benefits,” Saha stated.
He mentioned that the inclusion of 920 new members would bolster the BJP's strength. Saha reiterated that neglecting the development of TTAADC is unfeasible, given that approximately 68% of the region falls under this tribal autonomous body.
The BJP's coalition partner, the Tipra Motha Party (TMP), governs the politically significant TTAADC, which oversees two-thirds of Tripura's 10,491 sq km area, home to over 1.2 million people, with around 84% being tribals.
The Chief Minister informed attendees that the state government has allocated over Rs 860 crores to the TTAADC through various schemes and projects.
“We have never neglected TTAADC. Previously, no one considered the Ujjayanta Palace, but since our administration took over, we have developed it to celebrate the history of Tripura and its royal heritage. We are committed to preserving traditions and honoring our Maharajas, something previous governments failed to do,” Saha declared.
Present at the induction ceremony were BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharya, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, party General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, and President of Janajati Morcha Parimal Debbarma.
