New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) A significant meeting of the BJP core group is set to take place on Saturday at the residence of BJP National President J.P. Nadda, as the party enters the final stages of its preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Commencing at 11 a.m., this meeting will see the participation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, senior leaders from Bihar's BJP, and essential members of the party's core team.
This pivotal discussion follows the imminent announcement regarding seat-sharing arrangements by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is anticipated to be revealed in Patna on the same day.
Sources indicate that the main focus of today’s meeting is to finalize the BJP’s list of candidates for the allocated seats under the NDA agreement.
The BJP’s Bihar election committee has already forwarded panels of potential candidates to the central leadership. Insiders suggest that the initial list of candidates might be unveiled by October 13. Importantly, this list could represent a unified NDA slate instead of solely a BJP list.
Prior to the announcement, allies within the NDA have adopted a conciliatory stance. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) head and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, who previously requested 40 seats, hinted at a nearing agreement. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s leadership, stating, “I have nothing to worry about when my Prime Minister is there.” The LJP(RV), which did not participate in the NDA in 2020, is now being reintegrated into the alliance.
Meanwhile, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) President and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, whose party secured four out of seven contested seats in 2020, is allegedly seeking 15 seats this time. While this request may not be entirely fulfilled, sources indicate that both Paswan and Manjhi are likely to accept the final arrangement following interventions from senior BJP leaders.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to occur in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results being declared on November 14, 2025.
