New Delhi, Nov 6 (NationPress) The BJP has categorically rejected as “baseless” the allegations made by Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi, who has launched a vehement critique of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the ruling party, claiming widespread voter fraud in the Haryana Assembly elections.
BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized Gandhi, stating, “Every time he mentions a hydrogen bomb explosion, whom does he aim to target? His supposed ‘bomb’ is nothing more than a child’s Diwali firecracker.”
“Rahul Gandhi appears to be rehearsing for a press conference in anticipation of Bihar’s impending defeat. Previously, he blamed EVMs, but with technicians, experts, and even the Supreme Court validating their integrity, he has lost his basis for complaint,” he continued.
Supporting Chugh, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized the integrity of the electoral process, underscoring the significance of the Systematic Intensive Revision (SIR) method. “This is why the SIR exists. Why does Rahul Gandhi oppose it? It is designed to ensure the cleanliness of the voter list. There should be no resistance to this,” Sharma stated.
On Wednesday, addressing the media at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in Delhi, Gandhi introduced what he called “The H Files,” asserting that his team had uncovered proof of a “centrally coordinated operation” aimed at manipulating voter lists and “subverting democracy.”
“This is not a mere coincidence. This isn’t just about one booth or one constituency. It is a centralized scheme to steal elections,” Gandhi asserted. He alleged that more than 25 lakh fraudulent or duplicate voters were illegally added to Haryana’s electoral rolls to convert a “Congress landslide into a BJP victory.”
The Congress leader contended that this manipulation is part of a broader strategy intended to undermine free and fair elections throughout India. “The data we have collected over several months indicates systematic interference,” Gandhi said, calling for an independent investigation into the purported fraud.
