New Delhi, Aug 10 (NationPress) Union Minister Chirag Paswan has taken a firm stance against Lok Sabha's Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Sunday, expressing his support for the Election Commission of India (ECI) after it dismissed Gandhi's assertions regarding extensive manipulation of voter lists.

“Feel free to validate your assertions. You spoke extensively, delivered a speech in English for over an hour, and then departed. If this issue is as significant as you claim, the Election Commission should be your next stop. The Congress is the oldest political party in the nation, while the RJD holds the title of Bihar's oldest party, yet they make such accusations without substantial evidence,” Paswan stated.

“This is precisely our argument: you voice concerns over names being excluded from the voter list, claiming numerous complaints are emerging, but as a responsible political entity, why haven’t you approached the ECI?” he questioned.

The Election Commission, in a rare and assertive response on Friday, urged Rahul Gandhi to either substantiate his allegations under oath or apologize to the public, labeling his presentation during the INDIA bloc meeting as a “distorted and unfounded analysis.” The ECI indicated that if Gandhi fails to sign the declaration, it implies he lacks confidence in his analysis and is making ridiculous claims. The electoral authority also noted that during the development of the electoral roll for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress filed minimal complaints across states and union territories under the Representation of the People Act.

Paswan further accused the Congress and its allies of causing disturbances in Parliament, stating, “Instead of adhering to protocols and approaching the appropriate ministry or authority, they are engaging in protests and interrupting Parliament, which is not only irresponsible but also shows disrespect to our democratic institutions.”

He also criticized opposition parties for questioning the military’s actions during Operation Sindoor, where the IAF confirmed downing six Pakistani aircraft.

“In their opposition to one individual, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they cast doubts on the Army’s integrity, echoing sentiments from Pakistan. This is disgraceful. Our Army's valor should never be questioned.”

Earlier on Saturday, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh presented detailed intelligence and satellite imagery that confirmed India’s precise strikes on Pakistani terror infrastructure in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
