Agartala, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, articulated on Monday that the BJP government is dedicated to ensuring that the advantages of development initiatives from both central and state authorities reach every individual in society.
The Chief Minister announced that Tripura has recently been honored with seven national Panchayat Awards for exemplary performance in Panchayat work, emphasizing that the government is consistently focused on the holistic development of rural Tripura.
Saha, during the inauguration of multiple projects under the Rural Development Department at Pragya Bhavan in Agartala, stated that the state is actively executing programs such as Chief Minister Gram Sampak Yojana, Chief Minister Tripura Gram Samriddhi Yojana 2.0, and Mega Griha Pravesh.
He remarked, “The goal of these initiatives is to serve the ordinary citizen. It is crucial to guarantee that the benefits of government schemes reach even the most marginalized individuals in society. The Rural Development Department serves as the central agency for implementing various schemes from both the central and state governments,” he noted during the event.
Moreover, the Chief Minister mentioned that the government is also executing various externally funded projects, and the Rural Development Department plays a vital role in areas such as employment generation, sanitation, capacity building, infrastructure enhancement, and the socio-economic upliftment of women.
“These activities are primarily carried out through the District Magistrates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently highlighted the necessity of development reaching every citizen,” he stated.
According to the Chief Minister, Tripura has garnered a total of seven national Panchayat Awards, with an associated prize of approximately Rs 10 crores.
“During the oath-taking ceremony of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other ministers on November 20, I was delighted to hear commendations regarding Tripura. This achievement is a result of everyone's hard work,” expressed Saha.
At the gathering, the Chief Minister affirmed that providing shelter to the common populace has now been made possible due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Additionally, this government is devoted to securing the social standing and future of individuals residing in rural hilly areas. Seventy-five percent of Tripura's populace resides in rural zones. I have previously engaged in discussions with tribal officials regarding crucial development matters pertaining to the state. Greater focus is required on the progress of rural inhabitants,” Saha concluded.
Present at the event were Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Rural Development Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary Kuntal Das, Panchayat Department Director Prasun De, among others.
