Bengaluru, July 16 (NationPress) BJP MLA Byrathi Basavaraj has firmly denied any involvement in the murder case for which the Karnataka Police have charged him. He has been named as the fifth accused in the case, which has raised eyebrows.
In a statement to the media in Bengaluru on Wednesday, MLA Basavaraj expressed that he is being intentionally framed in this matter. "I do not know the individual who was brutally murdered, nor am I acquainted with the perpetrators," he remarked.
"I am unaware of the person who filed the complaint against me. Can the police really register an FIR based solely on false allegations?" he posed.
"I only learned about these developments through news reports. I am being implicated in a case where I have no ties. I will pursue legal action to clear my name from this FIR," Basavaraj asserted.
He mentioned that he plans to discuss the situation with Home Minister G. Parameshwara.
Byrathi Basavaraj is the representative for the K.R. Puram Assembly constituency in Bengaluru. He was previously a close ally of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah before transitioning to the BJP.
