Bengaluru, June 21 (NationPress) The BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra has conveyed optimism regarding the impending decision by the party's national leadership concerning the next State President of Karnataka.
During a media interaction on Saturday, he addressed inquiries about his ongoing role as the party's state chief.
Vijayendra remarked with a smile, “Being a national party, we will consider the views of all district presidents and senior leaders. A conclusive choice will be made very shortly.”
“I believe I have been fulfilling the responsibilities assigned to me over the last one and a half years diligently, as a dedicated party worker. I have consistently updated the central and national leadership,” Vijayendra stated.
He further disclosed that he, along with some senior leaders, met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday. “We engaged in a comprehensive discussion with him for approximately 20-25 minutes concerning the current political landscape and ongoing state developments,” he noted.
“Our discussions included how the Congress party has adopted a divisive approach since assuming power. Their governance has become a burden for the less fortunate and the agricultural community in the state. Amit Shah listened intently and reassured us about the promising opportunities that lie ahead for the party.
“He urged all leaders to put aside their differences and unite. Only through unity will the contributions of our party workers be recognized, and the public will regain their trust in us,” Vijayendra emphasized.
“In a democracy, the opposition bears a greater responsibility than the ruling party. As the opposition, we have been diligently highlighting the shortcomings and adverse aspects of the Congress government's administration. Amit Shah Ji valued our efforts in this regard,” he added.
When questioned about the potential reinstatement of expelled leader K.S. Eshwarappa into the party, Vijayendra clarified that there have been no discussions on this matter thus far.
